Frequently Asked
Questions

Do you take my insurance for Physical Therapy services?

Sakash Health and Wellness is considered an out-of-network provider. While insurance is not processed directly, and payment is due at the time of service, many patients do submit claims to their insurance company. Sakash Health and Wellness will make sure clients receive the documentation necessary to receive the maximum reimbursement available. Additionally, all physical therapy services can be paid for via Health Savings Account and/or Flexible Spending Accounts.

Sakash Health and Wellness has no relationship with Medicare.  In this circumstance, law prevents us from providing Medicare patients with what would be considered “normally covered services.” If you are a Medicare beneficiary and would still like to request treatment or have questions, please call us at (603) 662-3166.

How do I know if I have out-of-network insurance benefits?

All you have to do is call your insurance company and ask them if your plan includes out-of-network benefits and what they are. We have provided an in-depth worksheet to guide you through this process.  It is encouraged that you also ask about your in-network benefits (including deductible, copays, and coinsurance) so that you may thoroughly understand your options.

Will I need a prescription from my doctor for physical therapy?

No. You do not need a prescription or referral from your doctor to pursue physical therapy services in the states of Maine and New Hampshire.  However, if you are pursuing reimbursement from your insurance company, they may require you to have a referral to qualify.

How long are the physical therapy sessions?

A physical therapy initial evaluation will last for 1 hour.  We believe that this is the minimum amount of time necessary to get to know our patients and understand their goals.  From there we will devise and implement an effective treatment regimen.  Follow up physical therapy treatments are also 1 hour in length and the entire time is spent with your physical therapist.

How many physical therapy sessions will I need?

That will depend on your specific needs.  Only after a thorough examination and evaluation will it be clear how many sessions will be required to achieve your desired outcomes.

HOW MANY TIMEs PER WEEK SHOULD I DO PILATES sessions?

Joseph Pilates is famous for saying,

“In 10 sessions you will feel the difference.  In 20 you will see the difference.  And in 30, you’ll be on your way to having a whole new body.”

However, there is no definitive answer to this question.  Most of it depends on your individual goals and how Pilates will best integrate into your life.  If a client wants to achieve the "Pilates Body", 2-3 times a week is recommended.   Pilates is gentle enough that it can even be performed daily.  In contrast, just one session will offer valuable information that clients can then integrate into their daily movement patterns.

How should I prepare for my first pilates session?

Please fill out the appropriate forms if you are a new member.  We ask that all participants arrive 10-15 minutes before their class or appointment.  Classes and appointments will start promptly at their scheduled time.  Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely.  Fitted clothes are best as this helps us to evaluate your posture.  Please avoid buttons or zippers as these can damage the equipment.   A water bottle and hand towel are also encouraged if you have them available to you.

how do i change my class or appointment time?

Sakash Health and wellness requires 24 hours/1 business day notice via email, the scheduling system, or by voice mail for all class/appointment changes.  When you schedule a session (this includes classes and appointments), that time is reserved solely for you.  When a session is missed without giving advance notice, or a change is requested at the last minute, we lose the opportunity to offer that time to someone else who is waiting.  Missed and frequently rescheduled sessions will also interfere with your progress.

Clients are responsible for all sessions they have scheduled.  Clients who choose not to attend, or those who call to move their session at the last minute, will be charged a fee equal to the amount of their missed session.  These fees will be expected at or before the client’s next scheduled session.  Insurance will not cover these fees.

Extenuating circumstances and special situations will be reviewed on an individual basis per the discretion of Sakash Health and Wellness.
